Byline: Inam-ul-Haque - Email: haque.inam@gmail.comand and Shahid Iqbal ABSTRACT: Electrochemical simulation of the cyclic voltammogram of a sterically hindered quinomethylene in N,N-dimethyl formamide/tetra-n-butylammonium perchlorate at mercury bead electrode was done using two shareware simulation programs; CVSIM and ESP 2.4. Two cathodic and two anodic peaks were analysed. Voltammetric behaviour of a dimethyl analogue of the fuchsone: 2,6-di-methyl-4-(diphenylmethylene)-2,5-cyclohexadien-1-one, in dimethyl sulfoxide/tetra-n-butylammonium hexafluorophosphate at a mercury cathode was simulated to evaluate heterogeneous electron rate constants and other electrochemical kinetic parameters.
